The Reverend Michael Thomas, ordained in 2000, is an anointed pastor-teacher that is committed to proclaiming the word of God with the expressed purpose of illuminating God’s will for His people and kingdom living.
A graduate of Savannah State College and Cambridge University, Rev. Thomas is a former associate pastor of Springfield Baptist Church in Thomson Georgia. He is the pastor of St. Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Summertown Community, on 1st and 3rd Sundays and Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Cross-Green Community, on 2nd and 4th Sundays. A resident of Jenkins County, Rev. Thomas is married to the former Elizabeth Jackson and they have two children, Michael Jr. and Mikala. He is also a father in law to Je'Nae Miller Thomas and a grandfather to baby boy Max.
Beginning his coaching career at Jenkins County High School in 1981, he moved to Thomson, GA in 1982 to accept the position of Head Boys Basketball Coach and Assistant Football Coach. Currently, he serves as the Basketball Coordinator and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Thomson High School in Thomson Georgia. Achievements include the following:
